Because he had constant unbearable pain on one side of his face and ear.
Because the spirochete was drilling holes into his head and he had nerve damage.
Because syphilis is a spirochete and the only other spirochete we know of is Lyme bacteria.
Because I have Lyme and feel this constant pain too.

Unless it is an antibiotic day.
And I receive relief.
On antibiotic days, I may be tired from the die off but the world beckons again outside of the jail of managing constant pain.
